Research Excellence of AiDLab's Researchers in RAE 2020
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) received unprecedented results from the Creative Arts, Performing Arts & Design panel (UoA38) in the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE2020), with double full scores for both impact case studies and research environment. It was the best performance in this area among the eight UGC-funded institutions, and 69% of the research work was either rated as 4 stars (world leading) or 3 stars (internationally excellent). Prof Calvin Wong, CEO of AiDLab, in his roles as PolyU’s Cheng Yik Hung Professor in Fashion and Chair of the Steering Work Group for UoA38 submission, led the panel contributors from the Institute of Textiles & Clothing and the School of Design, over a period of 2 years of effort for this achievement.
Prof Wong together with our principal investigators, including Prof. Johan Hoorn, Dr. Rong Liu, Dr. Tina Luximon, Dr. Jeanne Tan, Dr. Kit Yick, and Dr. Joanne Yip, have all contributed to this triumphant result.
